Universal Class, Method Test Preparation, and The Great Courses Have been added to Montana Library2Go!

Americans love listening to books. In fact, in the past month 75% of the U.S. population listened to some form of spoken word audio be it radio, podcast, or audiobook. Fueled mostly by young adults, spoken word audio listening has increased 40% over the last seven years and 8% in the last year alone. Avid readers have become avid listeners.

The reasons vary for spoken word’s growing popularity. Americans report enjoying spoken word audio because it allows them to do multiple things at once, but also for gaining a sense of connection, new perspectives, self-improvement, humor, and lifelong learning.
