What:     Frankie Stockman is an oil painter currently living in Great Falls. During her pursuit of knowledge and experience of the art community, she has recognized and learned through personal experiences just how much of an impact being an artist and the art world in general could have on a person if given a chance. Frankie received her Associates in Fine Art/Humanities (2007) and has been able to continue her artistic education through books, the internet and personal experiences.

Born in the American Southwest and growing up in Great Falls MT, Samantha Houston’s work has been influenced by the colorful style and diverse subject matter that ranges from New Mexico to Montana.  Working mainly in acrylics, with the occasional usage of pastels, charcoal, and gold leaf, her main focus is to communicate mood and intrigue the viewers of her art through color, form, and subject matter composition. Houston’s works build layers of brushwork and color to create depth and texture in her pieces. Her favored subjects are iconography, wildlife, and fantastical scenes. She believes that art is about projecting inner ideas outward and breaking out of the boxes we build to define ourselves, so her work is a constant journey toward honing concepts and techniques to better communicate with those around her.
