Online Summer Reading

Online Summer Reading

The Great Falls Public Library Youth Services Department will begin its annual Summer Reading Program for babies, children, and teens on Friday, June 5th.  This year’s theme is Imagine Your Story. This year, we are taking Summer Reading online to better adapt to the changing COVID-19 situation.

We will still reward kids and teens with great prizes for reading this summer. Keep track of reading using a Paper Log or our new READsquared app! Prizes available include access to video games, Dairy Queen and Hardee’s gift cards, galaxy slime, and water bottle stickers.

We will be hosting all of our events this June using Zoom, a free online meeting platform. Craft supplies will be available for pickup on Saturday afternoons from 1-6 pm. See our calendar to learn more about our great events, including Fantasy-themed crafts like Pokémon and unicorns, Zine-making in Word Warriors Writing Workshop, building with new friends in LEGO Club, and making music in Music4Kids by Bass Clef School of Music.

Finally, preteens, teens, and the young at heart are invited to use Vidcode to create awesome, shareable videos and memes while learning to code in Javascript.

Please reach out to Youth Services staff with your questions: rmcfadden@greatfallslibrary.org or (406) 453-0349 ext. 215. We wish you a wonderful and healthy summer!

All Youth Services programs are free and open to the public.
