06 Feb Youth Services September Update
The Great Falls Public Library’s Youth Services Department would like to congratulate all of the kids, teens, and families who made Summer Reading, 2019 a success. Keep your family’s reading momentum going this Fall with Manga Club, a new reading and art club for preteens and teens 10 to 14, two monthly meetings of Word Warriors Writing Club, including a new Thursday afternoon session to better accommodate more families’ schedules, and the new Study & Chill relaxation and study program just for teens every other Friday at 4:00. New programs introduced this summer, like Pajama Storytime, Teen Crafts & Games, Family Game Night, and Family Makerspace will continue into the Fall, and STEAM Challenge and Wednesday afternoon crafts will be back next year for Summer Reading, 2020. Books & Babies, Page Turners Book Club, and Dumbledore’s Army will be discontinued to make way for new programs to better meet our community’s needs.
This September, the Youth Services Department will launch a 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program to help Cascade County babies and kids 5 and under build early literacy skills and get ready for kindergarten. Pick up a reading log in Kids’ Place. Kids will earn reward stickers for every 100 books they read, and repeat readings count!
