Online Databases
Great Falls Public Library offers access to a number of research databases and indexes.
These databases are made available in part from funds allocated by the Montana State Legislature. Please let your library and your legislators know how important access to this material is to you.

Some of the databases below are subscription databases that may require a password or a user ID.  If you are prompted for that information, please call the Great Falls Public Library Information Desk at (406)-453-0349.
Biography Resource Center "Integrates award-winning biographies from respected Gale Group sources with related full-text articles from hundrends of periodicals, as well as tens of thousands of images and links to hand-picked web sites. Search for people -- both current and historical from all eras -- based on name, occupation, nationality, ethnicity, birth/death dates and places, or gender, as well as keyword and full text."
Gale Virtual Reference Library "A database of encyclopedias and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research. these reference materials once were accessible only in the library, but now you can access them online from the library or remotely 24/7. Because each library creates its own eBook collection, the content you see may varyif you use the database at different libraries."
InfoTrac Student Edition "Designed for high-school students with access to a variety of indexed and full-text magazines, newspapers, and reference books for information on current events, the arts, science, popular culture, health, people, government, history, sports and more."
Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center brings together all the information that’s needed to fully understand an issue: pro and con viewpoint articles, reference articles that provide context, full-text magazines, academic journals, and newspapers, primary source documents, government and organizational statistics, multimedia, including images and podcasts, links to hand-selected web sites, and more!
Testing & Education Reference Center "Search thousands of college and graduate school entries. Identify scholarships that meet their financial needs. Take on-line practice tests and use test prep eBooks to obtain your education goals."
What Do I Read Next? "Includes over 122,300 recommended titles, more than 66,700 plot summaries, and awards information from 568 awards, all to help users uncover new reading adventures, find long-remembered favorites, and discover award-winning titles. Search by genre, subject, author, title, series, and more. A monthly highlights page allows the user to see selections of award winners, upcoming titles, and titles that revolve around different subjects each month."
