Can We Talk? A Conference on Civil
Discourse Does it seem that more people are talking at each other rather than to each other? On Thursday, March 6, Can We Talk? A Conference on Civil Discourse will be held at MSU-GF and the Great Falls Public Library to explore better ways of working together to solve contentious issues. The conference held at MSU-GF features historical and philosophical background and introduces the concept of Gracious Space as a tool for learning to listen, respect opinions, and "invite the stranger" to arrive at solutions for common problems. On the evening of March 6, we will hold public discussion of an issue selected through a poll in the Great Falls Tribune at the library, again using the techniques provided in the Gracious Space concept. The conference brochure, registration form, and presenter list is available here (PDF).
