Armchair Traveler Series



The Great Falls Public Library is hosting an Armchair Traveler Series through the months of February and March. The programs, which are free and open to the public, are on Thursday evenings at 7:00 pm.

 February 11               The Universal Experience: What my Finnish Home Town and Great Falls Share with Paizi Hoikkla

 Though Paizi has been living in the U.S. for 30 years, she frequently visits her home town in Finland.  She sees a distinct parallel between Great Falls and her home town.  Along with talking about life in Finland, she will also draw comparisons between the two locales.

 February 18               Ethiopia and Adoption with Kim and Matt Oschner

 The Oschners will share their experiences traveling to Ethiopia to adopt their child.

 February 25               Dublin, Wales, London & England,  and Paris with Beverly Lasch


Beverly Lasch will describe a trip to Dublin; several locations in Wales, Stratford on Avon and London in England, and Paris.

 Thursday, March 3, 7 pm Antarctica with National Geographic Grosvenor Fellowship Teacher Beth Thomas  


Thursday, March 10, 7 pm Easter Island with Beth Thomas


Thursday, Marcy 17, 7 pm Peru with Jim Heckel and Pam Smith


Thursday, March 24, 7 pm Hiking in the Dolomites with Randy and Nora Gray


Thursday, March 31, 7 pm Taiwan, China, Marriage, and Immigration with Annette Schipf
